Fire Table Installation

A fire table, also known as a fire pit table, is an outdoor piece of furniture that adds a sense of luxury and style to any patio or backyard. Fire tables are convenient and clean, and—unlike traditional firepits—they can be turned off as soon as you’re ready to call it a night. Fire tables create a beautiful centerpiece for outdoor gatherings, and are perfect for hosting guests and keeping everyone warm on chilly nights. Of course, there are both advantages and disadvantages to consider before installing a fire table.

Fire Table Pros

No wood, axe, or flannel shirt required:  Fire tables operate on natural gas, so you won’t need to purchase and chop wood to spend an evening around the fire. Flannel shirts are still encouraged.

Warm and cozy: Depending on where you live, temperatures can still drop to create colder conditions in the summer months, especially in the evenings. If you have a fire table, you and your family and friends may only have to huddle closer to the fire to stay warm.

Quality time and entertainment: Fire tables are a perfect centerpiece for evenings spent sharing conversation and food with loved ones.

Fire Table Cons

Price: While fire tables can  increase a home’s value and beauty, they can be costly. Before making the decision to purchase a fire table, consider where you’d like to place it, and make sure the area will accommodate the table (eg. place the fire table over stone instead of grass and of course keep it away from flammables).

Safety first: While fire tables are luxurious, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the obvious: they have open flames that can be hazardous. Always supervise children and adults who have imbibed too much around open flames. Never leave the fire burning unattended, and keep household items and liquid flammables, such as paper plates, napkins, and plastic utensils away from the fire.

Pro Tip

Fire tables typically come equipped with a ten foot gas line quick connect hose. When you are planning your table placement (eg. in the middle of your yard), consider that the hose will need to reach from your gas hookup to the fire table. Not only can this be inconvenient, but can also cause a tripping hazard. If you’d like to install your fire table father than 10 feet from your gas hookup, consider an underground dedicated gas line to serve the appliance. We can help with these too!

No. The intense heat generated by a wood burning fire could damage your fire pit. If you want to burn wood, look into getting a wood burning fire pit.

Cooking on your gas fire pit is not recommended.  The grease or drippings from your food will clog the burner and give it a dirty appearance.

No. Gas fire pits cannot be used in any enclosed area.

Some of the most common rocks that should be avoided in fire pit construction include sandstone, limestone, pumice, gravel, and river rocks because of their porous nature and tendency to hold water.
